Zoco Dubai is a vibrant fiesta of modern Mexico and Latin America at the heart of the city in Al Habtoor city. ZOCO is an urban, soulful, eatery, cocktail bar and lounge serving reimagined classic dishes alongside Latino libations and distillations. Open nightly for dinner and drinks until the early hours.
We started off with Bandera Guacamole– which is a traditional guacamole from the central region of Mexico which combines the color of the flag. Red( Tomato), green (Cilantro and Jalapeno) and White (Onion)- served with nachos on the side, and guacamole tasted the best I ever had in Dubai.
Banana Leaf Roasted Chicken– Half chicken marinated in a paste of chilies and spices called ‘adobo’ and roasted in a banana leaf. It was served with baby potatoes and Argentinian chimichurri. The meat was tender and cooked to perfection, it was spicy yet very tasty. I must say this is one dish which you must order if you are a chicken lover like me.Totally recommended!
Quesadilla- Most people love Quesadilla’s, this is one dish which we all love when it comes to Mexican cuisine. You have the option to choose your filling of Beef, Chicken, and Prawns. Quesadillas were delicious with no too much cheese, and thin chunks of chicken neatly done with black beans puree, Monterey jack cheese, tomato salsa and guacamole with sour cream. If you are in Zoco Dubai definitely try this one.
Last but not the least, comes the dessert, which we all love.We opted for Mole Fondant which is chocolate cake served with a ganache of ‘mole poblano’, a traditional Mexican sauce with chocolate, chilies, spices, and nuts. It was served hot and the chocolate sauce was divine.Love, love this one! Totally Recommended.
Dulce De Leche- Buttery layered pieces of Puff pastry with Cajetan( dulche de leche) cream and almonds. Although i love puffed pastry, this one didnt ignite my taste buds and disappointed me.
And if you are a teetotaler like me, fret not!. Zoco has some amazing non-alcoholic drinks. You can ask the server/waiter for some suggestions. Our waiter Joven was very courteous and helped us choose the best from the menu.
Overall the experience was quite brilliant, the service and the ambiance are top of the class, with a stunning view of the water canal.Perfect place to grab drinks or an evening dinner.
