Its easy to guess it from the name itself , that this restaurant is grand and by grand i mean they offer over 80+ dishes.
Ramadan season and it becomes very busy during Iftar at the Grand Barbeque restaurant. I could see guest waiting for the table , and staffs were very busy guiding them to respective table. It is better to reserve a table before you go, so its easier for them to serve. The restaurant has two style of seating arrangements- one is the family / private room and the other open for general. Its very spacious and can accommodate fairly a large group of people.
The restaurant typically serves Indian/Pakistani cuisine, but they do have live -pasta counter and Chat counter. They had a wide variety of salad & dressings from coleslaw, arabic salad, pineapple, barbeque chicken, corn salad to pasta salad. I was thinking what to eat and what not to!. All of them looked delicious and i decided to try the tabouleh and arabic salad .
For the starters-They have soups, momos (Veg & Non Veg) as well as other non vegetarian items such as Hot Garlic fish, chilly chicken, Ajwaini Fish Tikka, Chicken Tandoori, Hariyali Murg Tikka, BBQ Chicken wings and some sauces/chutneys to go along with the starters. Apart from that they did serve Boti on Roti (which is a spicy chicken served on a flat bread) and prawns on the table. For the vegetarians they have a extensive range to choose – baby potatoes (sounde aloo), gobi manchurian, tandoori mushroom, singapore noodles and many more.
For the main course- Hot Nans/Rotis served with chicken kolhapuri, butter chicken, singapore crab masala, mutton biriyani, veg pulao, yellow dal and variety of different vegetarian items as well.
Desserts- There is a separate section for desserts and icecream. Kids would definitely go crazy looking at the abundance.Love the hot chocolate fountain ,with marshmallow sticks. Some of the desserts which i truly loved are coconut creme, tiramisu, gulab jamun and Dudhi halwa (Bottle gourd delight).
What i loved the most from their buffet- the mutton biriyani, tandoori chicken, chicken kolhapuri and gobi manchurian. Sit ,relax and enjoy as you eat this sumptuous buffet at this restaurant.
You name it and they have it all. The experience in this buffet spread will give you a feeling of a FEAST.
The challenge is to keep up with the quality of the food and also to give prompt, quick service at the table . It was a delight to see the staff doing so well and managing the crowd. Food quality is good, it will not disappoint you for sure.
I truly enjoyed my meal in this very busy yet efficient restaurant, and am very sure you will too.
For the drinks i ordered a fresh lime water from the menu . If you are a Karak tea fan, it is included in the buffet.
Lastly, i would like to Thank Mr Ghani, its always pleasure to meet a Bangalorean in a foreign shore.
Price for two: You cant beat the price- 75 dirhams for the buffet. Still reading??
